Plié/Squat-Free the Plié!
A staple movement of any dance class or exercise regime. Do you find yourself fearing this type of movement? Is it painful, uncomfortable, or overall, just feel tight? In this workshop learn the “bone rhythms” and “muscle sliding” to help you visualize, embody and functionally move your body the way it was meant to be moved. Also learn to understand what cues your instructors are trying to convey and what potentially could be more helpful cues for deeper, smoother and more pain free plié/squat movement.

Grand Battement/Kick-Free the Hip!
Have you ever been told to “lift from underneath” while doing a grand battement or kicking the leg? How does that make sense when the muscles used in lifting are on the opposite side? This workshop will focus on the meaning of imagery used to achieve that higher kick as well as the “bone rhythms” that must happen for the leg to move comfortably in the socket as well as “muscle sliding” to achieve a safer range of motion.
